Hello Siddiq,

Thank you for your entry! I have a couple of questions for you.

I have been hearing buzz about Moringa for a few years now. Do you know of Moringa distribution projects elsewhere in Africa and if they have had the success expected of them?

Also, you list your organization as the Centre for Treatment & Rehabilitation of Torture Victims. How does your Moringa idea fit into your work with torture victims? Are they related?

Thanks for the clarification!
Stephanie

Dear Stephanie
Thank you for your concern towards Moringa and its application in Africa. Unfortunately the data is not avilable in that aspect, but there are few scattered populations of the tree in the Eastern & Western parts of the contenent. In addition to that FULL awareness [among the needy] of the tree's properties is not within their access.
As for your second question the answer is that victims of torure [after their treatment]become un-willing to perform normal work due to either their loss of body parts [hand, leg or eye-sight]or loss of their jobs which means their inability to earn enough monies to buy even normal food let a side fruits and milk.
The tree provides food [proteins], fruits and milk. Please enter "Moringa Tree" and browse the internet.
Wish you all the best

Dear Nuha Talib,
Thank you for your interest and concern regarding the Moringa Tree. Your practice in entering into research towards implementing the plant's properties as animal fodder would reveal wonders in this aspect. The University of Agriculture and Animal science "Duwaim- Sudan" are conducting similar researches and if we continue communicating with each other, could provide you with their findings.
Wishing you all the success with your valuable efforts.
- Ex-British Council's Librarian.
