I agree that the basic idea is similar to the home stay, but this idea is entirely different as it encourage tourists to live the culture rather experience it. There is a difference between understanding the culture and live the culture. For example, if they start fishing or weaving with the local people they will understand the difficulties and fun involved in that.In fact they can even promote these types of cultures in their countries too. Natural resources are used by the tourists by their own. No locals are doing it for them. So I think this is a great chance to merge cultures in a positive aspect. Please let me know your thoughts about this.

Thanks for the clarification Sijo. Yes, a first-hand experience would go a long way to promote eco-tourism and at the same time provide livelihood options for the coastal communities.
