The importance of refocusing the international development agenda to focus on girls cannot be overstated. It sounds as though BICE is doing a lot of good work- from policy to direct services- to serve adolescent girls. Further- domestic workers are an often overlooked- though highly vulnerable population of human trafficking and your focus in this area is much needed if we are to make real progress in ending global human trafficking. Great job!
In some places in your entry you say that you are focusing on girls 15 and under and other times 18and under. Which one is correct and can you share why this age was chosen?
There were two aspects of your program I found very interesting that I was wondering if you could expound upon. The first- is that you mention that BICE is creating and ethic charter. What does this look like? Will it be presented to employers or to policy makers or both? Also- you say that you are trying to train employers- are these employers in the formal sector or also in the informal sector where many adolescent girls undoubtedly end up working?
I'm looking forward to hearing more!
Thanks!
