Agnieszka,

This your eco-ranch appears to embrace all the facets of geotourism. What I found most interesting was your impact on preventing the 10 hectares from being cut down, was there a political measure here or was it that it was simply left unclaimed (which would leave it open for the loggers to come in)? Indeed, what a great story about how you have built the lodge.

Thank you in advance for your response,
Tyler Ahn

Dear Tyler,

thank you for your comment!
As for the forest: the unmanaged forest belongs to the Eco-Frontiers Ranch. We bought it from the State and decided not to make any logging activities although you could get quite valuable wood out of there. Our forest borders with State Forest, where 'normal' logging and management activities take place. The purpose of leaving the forest unmanaged was to see how it grows naturally with no human input. And it is really amazing to observe the natural regeneration, lots of deadwood, birds and wild animals that shelter just in our forest escaping from chainsaw noise and hunters. Our guests just love walking in our forest!
I hope I had answered your question, if not let me know.
Best regards, Agnieszka
