I have been a guest on Mara's farm on various occasions and always left feeling nourished both physically and on soul level. On one hand it is a traditional Latvian farm as many others but what makes it a unique that one is welcome in this 'cradle of nature' and guided through the health enhancing rhythms and activities that have been forgotten by many.
One night after FoE gathering that was held there we were treated with full sauna procedure - sweating, pond dipping, sweating again, cleansing procedure with branches of various trees according to everyone's needs (Mara knows a lot about that), cooling and sipping dried apple and marsh herb tea afterwards. Went to sleep up on the loft on the hay beds and went for a walk through the dew filled forest next morning.
Being a visitor from the same country i did not gain lots of new impressions - the same sky, the same trees and plants around but on my return home i had a few ideas how to benefit more from what is in my surroundings.
I wish every urban-dweller had an opportunity to visit such a farm now and then!

“Although the program’s presentation indicated an important human health component, I was unclear as to how the initiative support community health practices. I would like to hear more about how the initiative teaches the linkage between organic farming and health maintenance lifestyles.”
“This project demonstrates clear impact and insight; charming. It immerses the visitor into the lives of the farmers while simultaneously supporting their daily work. It has a lot of potential for replication. I would like to hear more about the sustainability model they are working from. . I would like to learn more about the EHF network and funding sources”

This is a commendable entry as it demonstrates a comprehensive and thorough thought process. These eco-farms are attempting to achieve harmony between natural systems and human health by integration of ancestral traditions, nature protection and health prevention. On the downside, this entry was very hard to read as there was a lot of incorrect spelling and grammar. Moreover, the submitter failed to stay within the word limits stipulated by Ashoka. As a result, many of the submitter's responses have been cut off thus making the total idea of each response unclear and incomplete.
