The Millennium Development AMBASSADORS PROGRAM is a Teachers Without Borders initiative which is designed to connect empowered teachers, community educators and leaders to information and each other, so that they can play a more vital role in the realization of the United Nations Millennium Development Goals in their local communities. The Millennium Development Ambassadors fulfill this mission by making the MDGs personal - working with their families, schools, and communities - and fostering a growing network of teachers and community leaders to strengthen and transform their communities. The Millennium Development Ambassadors program is open to all individuals who are interested in a strategic position with initiative, passionate about the realization of the United Nations MDGs, and compassionate towards humanity and community development. Those who are enlisted as Millennium Development Ambassadors are not necessarily all those who have accomplished the MDGs as individuals or in their families; it is rather a new global commission and commitment with an on-going responsibility to ensure the realization of the MDGs.
