Sometimes people don't realize how much of an impact a simple technology such as changing a cook stove can have on the health of women, especially those of reproductive age that are often caring for small children and responsible for household cooking. What type of innovation in the cook stove are you proposing for your idea? What do you think the cost per stove might be? What are your ideas on outreach and targeting specific communities that are in particular need? What are your specific ideas for funding?

I also think that this is a great idea! This is a huge problem with a very simple solution. I do have a few questions about your project. First of all where would you be making the stoves? Have you ever thought of making manufacturing companies in country? Second, how much would the stoves end up costing for the people that would need to buy them? Third how would you adapt the design to fit with the different cultures that you are working with?

I have heard of a stove that you can make from clay, sand, banana stock or some kind of piping, and some kind of frame (like wood or bricks). These are all very easy materials for people to get in many countries so it ends up being almost free for the people. If they do not have one of these materials you find something similar. These have been very successful and sustainable! You should check it out!
