This is a really important initiative and we’re interested in learning more. It’s clear that you have a great understanding of the problem and we like that you’ve included numbers to back it up. We would, however, like to hear more about your plans for financial sustainability. Have you thought of a specific funding model that could help provide a constant source of funding? Also, could you provide more of a discussion on how you plan on implementing this initiative? Specifically, could you discuss who does the training, how it’s done, and how you’re identifying these women? You mention in your entry form that you will train colleagues on how to run the groups and workshops, but it might be useful to include more details on implementation in the “Actions” and “Results” section of your entry form. Thanks for a great entry and we look forward to your response! Please remember to filter your additional comments back into your entry form so that the team can better evaluate your submission!
It is really nice to hear an entry related to the mental health needs of mothers. It would be good to hear a bit more about what models of care have been tried in different settings to offer support for PND. Too often we simply avoid dealing with the mental health of mothers in low-resource settings because the physical needs are so great, but this is something that needs to be much, much higher in priority... thanks to this idea for bringing it into the discussion here!
It sounds like this would be a great solution to not only solve an aspect of maternal health but also many other problems in the communities! I think that this is great but I do have a few questions! How would you pick your therapists and for how long and how would you train them? Also how would you pick the location for the group meetings and when to start a new group if they get too big to be affective? Thank you again and I look forward to hearing more about this!
