Camilla Sherr - co-director of HHA has spent time lecturing worldwide and spent three months teaching local doctors and practicing in the poor barrios of Honduras. To alleviate the physical suffering of HIV/AIDS patients bought on by the many severe side effects of anti-retroviral medication (ARV's), which fights the virus and helps the patients to stay alive, but whose effects are physically debilitating and severe.
Improve the debilitating side effects of the ARV's treatments sopeople on the medications can continue treatment for a longer time before the medications lose their effectiveness and patients experience treatment failure.
To give an alternative means of healthcare to those who are not candidates for anti-retroviral (ARV) medication, or to those that find the financial cost to be un-affordable.
To bring in consultants to sustain the clinics that are already in place, and meet the need of the growing demand for more homeopathy clinic

Bring in consultants to sustain the clinics already in place and meet the growing demand for new clinics, until local village health workers and hospital professionals can be trained.
Homeopathy is perfect for Africa because the people of Africa understand and respect natural systems of healing. It is not a foreign intrusion on their way of thinking, but an integral part of their belief system and culture, Homoeopathy is very affordable, even for the poorest Africans. Homoeopathy has no side effects, yet it alleviates the side effects of conventional ARV treatments, whose effects are debilitating and severe, thus reestablishing quality of life people with HIV/AIDS.

We usually start our day travelling to our various clinics, some slums, some rural with our translator, Rasta Roger. We load and unload the remedy box, sit under a tree or in a tiny ‘sauna clinic’ or visit patients at home when they are too sick to come.Transport is a problem as we only have 1 car, so our driver spends much of the day driving between clinics, home visits. Today we spend the day at the childcenter, First in line is Johnson. He is 3 years old and HIV-positive. His mother knew she was positive but because she didn’t want to be stigmatised, she breastfed Johnson. Hence his positive status. Johnson is a very serious little boy. His first remedy was Ozone 12c, which I gave him in June 2010. He had black spots on the skin, rash, itching. His eyes were itching and he had serious strabismus He is a naughty boy, climbing, touching everything, a noise maker, says Upendo, his teacher. He loves spicy food. He is the youngest of 3 kids. He is not on any medication for HIV. He came back in December with itchy skin, very watery eyes, and a milky glaze over them. He looked miserable; Upendo says he cries all the time. He can cry for 3 hours non-stop. He gets also very angry. Upendo says the remedy in June was very good and that he has been completely well and symptom free until now. So, I repeated the remedy. Immediately, his mood improved and he stopped crying. No more fighting. Skin vastly better, itching gone, black spots are less. Eyes normal, no more watering. He is smiling, looks happy, and his strabismus is less pronounced since the summer.

Others working to address the issues of HIV/AIDS in Africa, are conventional doctors, naturopaths and other homeopaths throughout Africa.
In Tanzania at this time all other homeopaths are affiliates of HHA, with no other homeopaths continent wise, That we know of), doing similar data collecting on the impact of homeopathy on HIV/AIDS as we are.
The data collecting HHA has been engaged in so far and it's positive results are becoming increasingly well known. HHA would like to use it's data collecting as leverage to become affiliated with hospitals willing to move forward with not only data collecting but research on the effects of homeopathy on HIV/AIDS.
Through lack of funding,trained personnel and hospital affiliation, competitors may be poised to expand on our work in progress

Jeremy Sherr, founder of HHA,dreamt about doing this for many years. In his post graduate course, at The Dynamis School, he often taught the philosophy and technique of treating epidemics but was well aware that a lot of this knowledge was based on theory. More importantly, he had treated several AIDS cases in the West, and had seen what homoeopathy could do. With an estimated 28 million people suffering from the disease in Africa, he and his wife felt it was their duty as well as a privilege to do what they could to help. Jeremy was born in Africa, so in a way he felt he was coming back home. When I heard of the beginnings of this project in 2008, I KNEW I would be working with the Sherr's. I was a recent graduate from homeopathy school and was always intrigued how destructive AIDS was, the epidemic that was the scourge of my generation. In 2011 I got up enough money to volunteer with HHA for 1 month, all the positive changes I saw in patients I knew would be back to work with HHA

The goal of the initiative is:
1) relieving the suffering of as many HIV/AIDS patients as possible using classical homeopathy;
2) helping local communities achieve sustainable nutrition through Community Garden Projects and education;
3) producing scientifically rigorous and ethical research on the treatment of HIV/AIDS with homeopathy to demonstrate what homeopathy can achieve.
4) To help spread knowledge and the use of homoeopathy throughout Africa.
5)To create a self-sustainable and self-perpetuating infrastructure for homoeopathy in Africa.
¿Cuál ha sido el impacto de la solución hasta la fecha?
80% of HHA's patients are using both homeopathy and conventional ARV treatments and so CD4 counts,(the conventional standard test for AIDS), are
monitored. Patients who receive homeopathic treatments in conjunction with ARV treatment show a rise and stability in CD4 counts, and sustainability of this increase. Patients experience alleviation of the side effects of the ARV's and are able to go back to work to become viable members of their communities. To date HHA has observed a decrease in the side effects of conventional ARV treatments, of those patients using homeopathy, with an increase in the length of time it takes before patients go into treatment failure. Since homeopathy is provided free of cost it is affordable to EVERYONE.

Bring jobs to the local economy by the hiring of security staff, administrative staff, drivers. Translators are needed to fulfill cross cultural communication needs. Impact of the Kenyan economy by the sponsorship of 3 local students at the homeopathic college, 4Kenia, upon completion of studies hiring as full time practitioners with HHA. We have also impacted the local economy as we also rent a house for volunteers.

At this time HHA is currently targeting neighboring countries to Tanzania to spread the word of homeopathy. HHA has gone into Rural Swaziland, Botswana, Kenya and Malawi to conduct seminars, and spread the word on homeopathy, share information on remedies currently being used as well as the results we have observed. HHA recognizes that AIDS is a global pandemic and is working to make our protocol not location specific so as to make a substantial difference to the AIDS epidemic in Africa through the use of homeopathy and consequently worldwide.

HHA's clinical expertise of treating people living with HIV/AIDS with homeopathy is our strongest advantage. HHA already has knowledge of the handful of remedies that are most helpful in substantially reducing symptoms and alleviating drug side effects of ARV's in people living with AIDS.

The need for security to protect visiting volunteers is also great. Though Tanzania does not suffer from internal strife people are very poor and robberies are at a very high rate. Ensuring the safety of our volunteers is also a part of the growing needs of HHA.
Transportation has also proved an issue. Our car constantly breaks down so we have had to hire a taxi to take us to our various clinics.
