AkiraChix's "Vision" statement:

AkiraChix aims to inspire and develop a successful force of women in Technology that will change Africa’s future. We plan to do this through our key programs areas of networking, mentorship and training.

Information on their mentorship program:

In line with one of our missions of inspiring and developing women in technology through training, AkiraChix runs a training program for young ladies from poor Urban communities with a passion for technology called the AkiraChix Training program. The training program aims at giving these girls IT skills that would enable them sustain themselves. The inaugural set of students, who joined this program in August of 2010, recently graduated, on the 6th of August 2011, after a year of taking courses that ranged from basic computer packages, to programming and design concepts, as well as entrepreneurship and business development. The students graduated after having presented their final projects, which encompassed everything they had learned throughout the course of the program. Currently, more than half of the students have gotten placements in various IT firms, and many other students are already arranging job interviews and following up on new opportunities. AkiraChix plans on having this program running for a second time, and will be selecting the second set of students in the near future.

Reason:

AkiraChix was founded by women visionaries and techies who came together to create a network for women in technology, particularly for women in Africa. They realized that there's a lack of a women presence in the tech world. At their core, they believe that by having more women in technology, the world can be revolutionized for the better.
