Cupcakes and Cleavage - Empowering Female Entreprenuers for Social Change

Cupcakes and Cleavage is an initiative to create and develop entrepreneurship amongst women in Trinidad and Tobago. The "cake sale" and cupcake making still remains one of the simplest entrepreneurial ventures that can be started in one's own kitchen with all the basic ingredients and can still create not only sustainable employment, but can also add joy to the end user and fulfill a dream of an entrepreneurial empire for some.
This project was started as a simple project in 2010, by Social Entrepreneur, Nicole Joseph-Chin Founder of Ms. Brafit Limited (a social enterprise), who thought that bringing female entrepreneurs and craft makers into the same room for a special evening of showcasing and presentations could make a small dent in visibility amongst the entrepreneurs while taking the products and services that they offered, to the next level.
Over the years the event has grown exponentially and has been driven by the passion of the participants, who share their goods for sampling.
This project has afforded the participants an avenue to feature their brands and to grow their businesses by sharing their products with the invitees who are from the social and corporate world. This event is held every year on June 30 and the overall impact to the participants is empowering in itself.
Nicole Joseph-Chin is passionate about networking and mentoring of female entrepreneurs and is keen on changing the landscape of female entrepreneurs for the better.
For the past three (3) years, this event has been hosted at a local hotel that demonstrates social responsibility by giving their space, time and cupcakes for this very focused iniatative.
