In many instances, a disruptive technology fails to succeed because it's expected to be compatible with existing processes. With any new technology, a new business model for the most part has to develop its own processes to be viable and the business model has to be aligned with the value proposition - simple, convenient, practical...
Not only is our business model compatible with existing processes (universally interoperable), but our innovation is also developing new processes which is necessary to create sustainability. As well, all stakeholders are provided quantifiable demonstrations in their respective areas in order to increase implementation success.

Context for Disruption:
This innovation, called myPrimeNetwork (Registered Trademark), produces delivery, preventive/health services & dietary/exercise management platform incorporating a mechanism for enabling market place opportunity for the consumer-driven healthcare movement. Moreover, myPrimeNetwork bridges today's connectivity gap revolutionizing healthcare, payment, bank, food industries, et.al. This innovation highlights our founder's objective: To develop new mediums that leverage & tie the evolving global wireless communications revolution with new processes. For example, Anna, a 35 y.o. mother of three has just moved to a new city & is trying to enroll her children in their new school. The health records for the family are still packed away in boxes, but the mother needs to know what immunizations her children have had & which ones they still need. She can access those immunizations quickly on her mobile phone & fax the information directly to the school nurse. After dropping the children off at school, Anna heads to the grocery store to buy food items for the week. She uses her mobile phone to help her make "better choices," particularly since her 6 y.o. daughter has food allergies. Anna moves down the aisles quickly & easily selecting foods accordingly-based on diet compliance displayed on her phone. The last item she put into the basket sounded the cell phone alarm as it was a product that was likely to cause an allergic reaction. Upon completing the grocery store errand, Anna now heads to the gym to get her weekly workout. She uses her wrist watch to upload training programs into fitness equipment & records her performance comparing it with the performance of other members of her peer group. A fully engaged healthcare scenario is a catalyst for organizations to employ processes & technology that improve public health. More importantly, the individual takes greater responsibility for his or her well-being. myPrimeNetwork creates convenient, simple & practical mobile solutions.
Delivery Model
Not only is myPrimeNetwork a disruptive innovation, but just as disruptive is the business model-a paradigm which capitalizes on its advantages & is inherently viable (i.e. current database & enterprise applications become less & less adequate). Prime Network International implements a B2B2C solution that provides an efficient, mutually beneficial partnership between consumers all over the world & the businesses (distribution channels) - payers, providers & suppliers of health services and non-health related companies alike which are currently serving or would like to serve them. Our company is currently working to expand abroad to capitalize on the worldwide consumer electronics trend as our innovation partly stems from our founder's realization of three siginificant market place trends:1) Mobile device users are demanding & impatient consumers who are accustomed to having info available at their fingertips 2) The digitization of content advances in wireless 3G technology & consumer expectation for quick & easy navigation of simple & practical solutions puts wireless service distribution in touch with consumer lifestyles worldwide 3) Developing countries are increasingly becoming mobile - mobile services are accelerating at a faster pace than in developed countries. Our commitment is not only to the insured, but to the uninsured as well - a mobile device is not needed to engage the technology. The system is designed to support key functions & health requirements such as:1) data exchange/management 2) transaction 3) automated shopping, exercise mgmt, interactive TV,wrist watch, clothing & kitchen systems. In addition, three ancillary value-added approaches have been integrated with myPrimeNetwork technology:1)consumer education-nutrition,exercise, etc.2) delivering value for the uninsured/developing world 3) developing affiliations with behavorial & addiction counseling centers:viable delivery afforded through personalized, interactive & various incentive-based means.
Key Operational Partnerships
The pilot projects were implemented with the following partnerships: 1) Mobile Manufacturer provided myPrimeNetwork-enabled phone for data/image exchange 2) Mobile Carrier provided cellular service for phones, which includes an Internet link & web browser 3) Health plans/payers, providers, TPAs suppliers of health services provided the consumer engagement & pertinent data 4) DHHS, FDA, eHealth Initiative, American Health Information Community (AHIC), Center for Health Transformation, National Business Coalition on Healthcare all provided advisory on policies, information technology standards, common principles, best practices & coordination of local, state & federal adoption.
Impacto
Financial Model
Prime Network International has formulated a financial model which generates new revenue opportunities and which does not charge patients & doctors. Customers - health plans/payers, providers, TPAs & non-health related companies pay a montly service fee per patient, licensing fee & any customization to the communication protocol

Effectiveness
1) User Acceptance. A survey of participants in two pilot projects found that 75% of consumers preferred the mobile phone technology to traditional health card. Using myPrimeNetwork technology, consumers were overwhelmingly positive saying things like "Why did it take so long to get a phone like this?" & "I can't wait for this technology to become mainstream." The ease of use is what attracted the participants. 2) Convenience & Speed. In the second pilot, consumers found the technology easy, convenient & fast. The usability study demonstrated that consumers react positively to transactions with mobile devices.
Which element of the program proved itself most effective?
For the physicians (over 5,000): immediate & easy access of up-to-date consumer health records without the disruption of workflow. No need to spend an average of 90 minutes each day dictating notes and $12,000/yr transcribing them.
For the patients (14,000): speeding through the healthcare delivery system. The patient did not need to supply their personal information each time they visited their doctor. Eligibility verification was reduced to milliseconds from as long as 15 minutes when done manually.
Number of clients in the last year?
0
What is the potential demand?
Curretly, mobile subscribers number over 3 billion worldwide with accelerated increases in subscriber numbers of developing countries. The population around the world either own or have access to a mobile phone/device.
Scaling up Strategy
Prime Network International's strategy focuses on two main priorities:
1) Continue validating the technology for added value in the states & abroad to quantify the improvements in health outcomes that our technology provides. Our on-going projects are vital for facilitating commercial service adoption and cultivation of policies & best practices.
2) License the technology to leading healthcare orgainizations & non-health related companies with whom we are currently discussing applications that are capable of being scaled upward based on pilot results
Stage of the initiative:

Expansion plan:
U.S. growth is the current priority which is being achieved through partnerships with customers who manage patient & healthcare service type provider groups. Customer expansion targets are contingent upon service type include: 1) Department of Health 2) Health Plans 3) PBMs
International growth is currently being provisioned with National Departments of Health & related government agencies. Expansion abroad will be developed in accordance with the domestic successes & adjusted to meet foreign needs & demands.
Underserved expansion entails timely resource dedication to assist consumers with special needs (no cell phone, living in a developing country where services are not yet available but are needed, etc.) to enable access to myPrimeNetwork's services to the greatest extent possible.
As a corollary, all growth strategy initiatives include:
1) Further development of the technology through continued R&D
2) Licensing to reach customers around the nation & abroad
Origin of the Initiative
myPrimeNetwork is a registered trademark for a preventive health, healthcare delivery system created by Prime Network International. Ken Lavergne is the founder & CEO of the project since 2003. He has been active in the healthcare industry since 1992. The inspiration for this innovation came from wanting to do his part in helping to deal with the current healthcare crisis. "My mother took medication to regulate her heart beat. While driving outside her home town she almost fainted as she drove to the nearest ER & spent 2 days undergoing tests & monitoring. On day 4 she saw her cardiologist. Her heart tests done 20 miles away had not been transferred. She went back, signed release forms & was told she would get them in 2 weeks. My mom couldn't wait & had the tests redone. Estimated extra cost: $4,000"...

What are your two main challenges to finance the growth of your initiative
1) VC investment is very much geared toward funding ventures already operating & scale-up investments rarely, if at all, beocme part of a VCs portfolio. As such, when personal funding becomes strained, it is a challenge to keep the project alive.
2) C-level healthcare executives need increased knowledge & understanding of mobile technology & how it can fit into the workflow.
How did you hear about this contest and what is your main incentive to participate?
I was informed via email by Dr. Risa Lavizzo Mourey, RWJF President & CEO, of this competition. As my 15 year career in the healthcare industry has always been focused on helping the lives of millions live a better quality of life, it couldn't be more fitting to have this opportunity.
