Por que a ideia é única e qual o diferencial em relação aos demais projetos do mesmo campo de atuação?
It is different from other proposals because it uses the strengths, abilities and motivations of these people at risk (girls and women) for the sake of their own transformation, making them part of the certification process for green bricks (soil-cement brick), learn the technology of their production technology coupled with the construction with this material by SENAI and the school of engineering. Parallel to the inclusion in the use of tools and learning new technology, they begin a process of formal certification of the school, where they use apply theory to their practical needs, for example, calculations of applied mathematics in the learning technology project Build Your Life (brick soil cement and construction techniques from the foundation to the roof), they build their own home in a condominium from 10 to 12 homes, practical training and learning, qualify to leverage this knowledge to other people, participate in all the technology development process, since the certification of the brick to the definition of condominium bylaws, election of themselves as trustees and responsible for the area, draw the structure of generating income through the sale of bricks and construction services, and finally, fall within the domestic financial system in which they pay a monthly lease that goes into a fund and the fund maintains the possibility of building new homes. Besides working with an underserved population, the technology also generates a cycle of participation and citizenship for the base of the pyramid. With this opportunity, they become stronger, are included into the market and are no longer abandoned by state assistance or dependent exclusively on donations.

The Contractor School made Lua Nova grow in quality, capability and offered strength to practices already developed before, working together, encouraging the exchange of expertise between the various actors of the public, optimizing resources and enhancing the social impact of our actions. This achievement meant not only a great visibility for these young mothers but also represented a great leap for Lua Nova: from idea to realization. Youth, women, poor people, by building their homes, manage to gain dignity. We consolidated the technologies of the Contractor School and expanded them to transform into a space for developing new technologies, knowledge transfer and income generation, causing the people not only to build their own homes, but also offering them a chance to live their dreams.
This technology also provides: comprehensive care for labor needs, social and psychological care for women and their children at risk, training (technical and social skills) supports the inclusion of female-headed households via educational approach which breaks the cycle of vulnerability and offers a sustainable solution; awareness among sectors, leading to an cross-sectoral effort, including the support of other social organizations to prevent the mother from returning to a situation of social risk, and introduces the prospect of developing micro-enterprise production (cooperatives). The ‘'Build your life” technology trained 34 young people and is training 200 more. Recently, the trained youth were asked to replicate the methodology in the State of Paraiba.
Problema
The lack of a decent maternity for young mothers, many former homeless people, stimulated the development of this technology to back up this situation and create models to influence policies of full social inclusion. It is an alternative service that complying with the legal provisions of the ECA, overcomes the view of fragmented care, because it works with various partners through a project of home, generating income and creating forms of social integration. A significant barrier is that after a period in a daycare center collectively and / or after their participation in projects of social psychological care, education and vocational training, many of these people try to start a new phase of their lives, but are faced with domestic violence and abuse by criminal groups that operate in suburban areas and slums in Brazil. Thus, there was the need to create a proposal for ethics and politics in search of better living conditions, which include: permanence (access to basic rights), achievement (emotionally, access to quality education, leisure, work worthily paid), and expansion and multiplication of knowledge.
Ações
The main facilitator was the partnership with the population served which allowed the exchange and joint building, providing a constant review of our actions. It is a multidimensional intervention that includes not only the actions of hosting, but also the generation of income and alternative housing. The transfer of knowledge is ensured mainly by formal training (capacity building), always with respect to local organizations. Emphasis is placed on the exchange and good practices, mutual learning, training and networking. Furthermore, to achieve effective results, the project is flexible, which gives visibility to the working methods used by each organization. Failure could be caused by: lack of baseline knowledge of finance, training, marketing, product (it was necessary to capture, create partnerships and manage funds that guarantee the sustainability of this project), support and public policy appropriate to local people; the population´s prejudice in accepting women as construction workers, the lack of payment of the leasing which circulates the fund of this technology and provides opportunities for other young people in the same situation.

2010 – Create Economic Management Tools - Developing community savings with each group having reserve funds and acquiring the ability to save; Structuring the revolving fund for the payment of housing and purchase of raw materials for new homes; Financial Literacy Course - knowledge and Diagnose specific capabilities, to identify people able to take control of structures and productive project, Participatory management in preparing the plan of the condominium. Training and Experimentation with new techniques - the use of an environmentally sound and economically viable model, which meets the basic needs without exploiting or polluting the environment, they become self-sufficient in the long run. Workshops to enhance the self-concept on the topic and personal aesthetics of the house - Development of creativity and femininity in construction, teach the importance of maintaining the home. 2011 - Create a lab to experiment with techniques of sustainable architecture - Based on experience, to facilitate the choice of materials and methods for young people according to cost, ease of maintenance, durability, impact on the environment, recyclability, versatility (continues in comments)

The instrument "partnership" is the fundamental vehicle of our actions. All our principles are founded in the recognition of our potential and that of others, and through the optimization of such exchanges. Besides economic resources, raw material, technical resources and infrastructure are offered by partners and helped boost the proposal of the Contractor School culminating in the possibility of closing a partnership with Petrobras. The major innovative aspect of this project is the union of various sectors (public, private, non-governmental and community itself) that come together to develop technologies within the reach of vulnerable and low-income people, providing the structure for a bold design of public policy offering the opportunity for young people, women, family and friends (joint effort) to obtain professional qualifications and skills, employment opportunities, social inclusion and thus create a network of relationships and achieve the dream of home ownership. The partners complement each other creating innovative alternatives to the population served as well as their peers in the community and help expand its own sphere of action - they all learn from each other.

The "Project Contractor School" was born when I came to realize that the achievement of housing (construction) as well as related expertise could be exploited in Lua Nova. This was possible by developing a technology that assists in building houses for young women. This action, in addition to being educational, could be empowering, because it develops a sense of struggling for empowerment. Believing that anyone who builds a house can build virtually anything, and also aid specifically in the process of integration. The production of bricks for the houses besides lowering their cost, symbolically demonstrates the potential of these young women and the ability to live and create their own spaces with their child, brick by brick.

I graduated in psychology from the University of Sao Paulo and in the first year of college I worked as a history teacher in a slum on the outskirts of the city. During college, I concentrated my interests in the areas of social activities, through community services and in discussions about social marginalization. I lived in Italy, Venice, during 7 years coordinating a community where women remained with their children during drug treatment. Still in Italy, I married and found out that I couldn’t get pregnant. I decided to work with mothers who had children and could not raise them. In 2000 I became a fellow of Ashoka, the same year in which I founded Lua Nova with a model that enables to host, treat, educate and train professionally marginalized adolescent mothers, without taking their children away from them.

(continuação de ‘resultados’)...facilidade de manutenção, durabilidade, impacto causado ao meio ambiente, possibilidade de reciclagem, versatilidade (possibilidade de mudança com reaproveitamento); Criar uma linha de produtos: casa, horta, jardim, aquecimento, aproveitamento de água,moveis e decoração. 2012 - Disseminar a experiência a 4 regiões do Brasil: Sul, Centro Oeste, Nordeste e Norte. Formação de Multiplicadores - Formação de novas jovens e mulheres de baixa renda para que possam criar suas próprias moradias e participar do programa através de inserção das mesmas como jovens aprendizes no processo de construção de novos grupos de casas. Sistematização - Sistematizar a experiência de produção construindo um passo a passo da produção para cada produto; Auxiliar novos grupos a aprenderem a construir suas próprias casas. Elaboração de um plano de novo plano de negócios - Analisar os processos e as diferentes frentes de trabalho para diagnosticar de pontos fortes e frágeis do grupo; Formar grupos de produção aptos a organizar seu próprio negocio.
(continuação de ‘parcerias’)...O grande aspecto inovador deste projeto é a união de vários setores (público, privado, não-governamental, própria comunidade) que se uniu para desenvolver tecnologias de alcance imediato à população vulnerável e de baixa renda, proporcionando a estruturação de um desenho de política pública arrojada onde se oferece a oportunidade das jovens, mulheres, família e amigos (mutirão) a obter qualificação profissional e talentos, oportunidade de emprego, inserção social, criação de rede de relacionamentos e realização do sonho da casa própria. Os parceiros se complementam gerando alternativas inovadoras para a população atendida assim como seus pares na comunidade e ampliam seu próprio âmbito de ação, pois aprendem entre si.

Há algum tempo atrás pedi a referência de alguns nomes à Ashoka para realizar um trabalho aqui na universidade e o seu foi o primeiro da lista. Infelizmente depois, por ser um trabalho em grupo, optamos por outra pessoa mas agora vejo por que da sua recomedação.
Talvez este comentário vá além do que seja necessário à competição mas gostaria de entender mas se for possível. Vi a descrição de diversas empresas parceiras muito ligadas ao setor de construção - centro de sua organização. No entanto gostaria de saber qual o tipo de parceria estabelecida com elas. É suporte financeiro ou vai além?
Pergunto isso pois acredito que muitas empresas acabam limitando sua participação com entidades como a sua. Acredito que o grau de relacionamento pode ser tão íntimo a fazer com os funcionários participem, produtos sejam doados e até novos parceiros complementares sejam apresentados. E tudo isto é importante para escalar seu projeto.
Este é outro ponto que gostaria de entender. Vi que estão replicando o projeto na Paraíba...quais são os riscos associados a isto? Você acredita que tem estrutura para seguir crescendo? Quais as alternativas?
