All the best,

The Changemakers Team

SDI is a great organization which does excellent work, and this model shows real promise. The aspect of using technological tools to organize slum dwellers is something others can learn from, and the innovative aspects of their work are very strong. They may be limited by the lack of focus on getting documentation recognized by state institutions, and by the emphasis on communal rather than individual land title. It would also be useful to see a higher number of households as proof-of-concept to understand better the replication potential. Overall, though, this is a fantastic organization with the potential to impact how both slum dwellers and governments understand the benefits of property rights.
