¿Qué es lo que hace que tu idea sea única?
After more than 3 years running this project, where Latin American and Spanish women are involved, we have been able to identify and conclude that there are no alternative and community communication spaces that so specifically tackle the issue of the struggle for the defense of women's rights. This Communications and Gender Center (based in Córdoba -Argentina- and Madrid) is special in that it develops its sound records solely with women’s voices, with respect for their sexual, social, political, cultural and economic diversity. Besides, their own productions and those of other groups that submit theirs remain available on the Network’s website, thus making the web an active Sound Library, with unique records and productions on gender perspectives and feminism, thus becoming a source with the richest information for Ibero-American women's movements. Also, the use and appropriation of new technologies facilitate the access to other women and associations so that the materials from the site may be freely reused making those productions visible and making the We in the World Network a constantly growing community space which also provides sonority to female groups. The networks to which We in the World is connected allow for the encouragement of work and coordination of actions with women globally, via communication and activism.
The Network is also special in that training is aimed at women from social movements, communicators, and teachers on gender, alternative communication and ICTs, allowing for the acquisition of technical skills and theoretical tools in order to enrich and empower their work, activism and daily life. The proximity of sound recording tools and digital editing facilitate the diffusion of their activities and the enrichment of professional knowledge and skills.

¿Cuál fue el impacto obtenido hasta el momento?
The development of the We in the World Network in the communications, gender and new technologies arenas became the ideal scenario to spread knowledge, to allow for the acquisition of skills and the exchange of experiences among Ibero-American women.
This was the perfect framework to articulate actions that made female realities (their struggles, claims, cultural exchanges) visible, strengthening bonds and sonority among Ibero-American women.
The activities developed belong to a reality of female struggle for their right to information and communication.
From various economic, cultural, social and political perspectives, the project used training, information, and diffusion as means to favor knowledge and awareness about female rights.
The Network’s means of communication have encouraged solidarity toward women from other countries and cultures, informing about their difficulties and claims, about how to create contacts and what the main priorities settled to tackle their problems are. Resources and strategies on how to become organized and make a group use of information through new technologies are taught.
The We in the World Network’s proposals have been particularly useful in order to become closer to female organizations and set up contacts, connecting them in order to exchange ideas and experiences. Female networks have been set as tools to reinforce lines of work with common interests and exchanges. Among their functions, there is the strengthening of cultural diversity, the promotion and protection of female rights, supported by communication.
The ICTs proposal has made communication easier and succeeded in the approach among cultures, promoting and providing tools that have been used not only to transfer information, but that have also played a really important role in the strengthening and support of group initiatives and cooperative actions, in relation with the demands and needs of women in Ibero-American countries.
The project, developed from the active involvement of its members, has rescued the strategic relevance communicational networks have in order to obtain the reaction, support and complicity of women, and the empowerment of women from Cordoba and Latin America, by making use of the modern Information and Communications technologies in the development and protection of female rights.
Problema
The problems we face do not differ from those of women in the Latin American region, who are immersed in relationships and practices socially that are taken as natural, but put them in inequality situations. The We in the World Network faces difficulties related with the possibility to maintain our facilities, from the financial standpoint, and the few chances to invest in the necessary technological equipment.
Acciones
We intend to continue strengthening the place we created more than 3 years ago in Cordoba, to give continuity to the training / education of women who, both on line or on-site, demand for these spaces. We intend to strengthen the bonds with various communications female and mixed networks with which we have been working, building new networks, too, in order to have the project replicated.
We wish to continue with the sound productions so as to remain visible and to continue raising awareness as to the female realities.
We have the major project of creating a female radio on the Internet, where, through radiophonic productions from women who are physically distant, a program schedule of female shows can be collectively built, with gender perspective and from a female standpoint.
We also want to give continuity to the Internet broadcasting of activities (conferences, seminars, workshops, etc.) organized by various entities, movements and groups of women to give visibility to their efforts and discussions, and to make women located far away become closer.
Resultados
The We in the World Network has reinforced their idea to encourage women's leadership, by working toward their empowering as a strategy to face inequalities and gender oppression.
In this line, the Network’s weekly productions are broadcasted in regional radios, allowing for the listening of our voices in other communities. They have also been used as formation materials or tools to raise awareness in other groups. The diffusion tools, implemented by the Network, make it possible to provide with information to a large amount of means of communication, associations and individuals who regularly receive our digital newsletters.
Besides, the We in the World Network’s broadcasts on the Internet have had a great impact on the communities. Female organizations and local or regional educational centers have requested or accepted that our network can multiply, through the technology, the chance to listen to and participate in the discussions and actions developed through forums, conferences, encounters and other activities of great interest for women.

The We in the World Network project began with the life, work, activism and bonds experience from one of its members after collaborating with the Vallekas Radio, in Madrid (Spain). There, a path toward communication and gender awareness, something unknown, in Córdoba, Argentina, began to be written.
That is how, since August, 2006, and after the approval of the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation and their subsidy, the Network could be settled in Córdoba. There, the bonds among the shy women that approached the network started to be forged, with women from the local female movement, from other organizations with years of work in the defense of female rights, and from other existing networks from community radios in Argentina, with bonds all over Latin America.
The We in the World Network's work was not focused from the beginning and once and for all, but it has been modified thanks to its continuous growth and the collective participation.
Even though there is a date where the Network’s activities began, its thoughts, ideas and dreams have a much longer path, since we have believed in this project for a really long time.
Incluye una biografía de la persona detrás de esta innovación.
The team of the We in the World Network is made up by young women (between 25 and 35 years old). Some of them are professionals in Communications and Psychology; others are political activists from community radios and various female movements.
Some of us are residents in the city of Córdoba; others come from the outskirts of the city or neighboring towns.
We are horizontally organized; we pick the contents of the productions by reaching consensus and devoting ourselves to the projects.
We have built a nice place of work, enjoyable, where not only do we dedicate our hours to the development of the activities, but also, we keep our doors open to those friends who have come to this place some time. "Our house" is a meeting point, where we can celebrate and discuss everything, which makes it richer every day.
