I have always had a desire to work with impoverished individuals in the world. I believe charity and a compassionate heart is not the full answer to alleviating poverty. I believe that compassion matched with a practical business approach and mathematics is the answer to finding sustainable methods to alleviate poverty.
I am connected to La Union, Lempira, Honduras. It is a small, isolated, rural, and mountainous region. I have been involved in this area since 2005.
I would like to see extreme poverty eliminated in this area. I would like to see this done with a combination of microfinance and supply chain analysis.
I have been on four health based mission trips to Honduras.
I have conducted a three month network analysis research project of the area.
I have been a founding member of Union MicroFinanza, a research based microfinance institution that works with rural farmers in Honduras.
I market Microloan Coffee.
