Patricio Segura Ortiz is a Chilean journalist, graduated from the Universidad Catolica del Norte in Antofagasta. In 1995 he worked in Santiago, Chile, but after a short stay at the end of that year he moved to Coyhaique, Patagonia, Chile. It was love at first sight: he felt in love with the region, nature, people, different style to what he has known.
Since 2006 he serves on the Citizens' Coalition for Aysen Life Reserve and he is member of the communications team of the Patagonian Defense Council.
He has a specialization in sustainable development, and has been regional president of the College of Journalists of Chile. He has received several awards, including Fellowship of the Avina Foundation Journalism and New Journalism Foundation for the project "Water Wars in Chile", published in La Nación newspaper.
Is a weekly columnist for the newspaper El Divisadero and commentator on the Regional Network of Radio Santa Maria de Coyhaique.
