I believe that one's life work doesn't begin when one is ready and settled. Instead, it is a continual process that begins from the very first breath you take. Even though I am still in the process of earning my terminal degree (MD) and may be young, I refuse to wait until each and everything is in place in my own life before I begin working to improve the lives of others. Every day, I aim to be a changemaker seeking a better life for all of us.
My current passion is to expand the opportunities for international medical work for young, developing physicians and other health personnel. The medical field has great need for young, energetic minds to tackle some of the toughest global health issues, but the current system offers few opportunities for true global health field work for pre-professionals. Through my involvement with Project Medishare and other medically-oriented non-profits, I hope to increase those options for this sort of work.
Currently, I am enrolled in an MD/MBA program at Emory University's School of Medicine and Goizueta Business School. Before Emory, I spent two years as a corps member with Teach for America *Memphis. In 2006, I graduated from Princeton with a degree in Politics and certificates in Political Economy and African Studies.
