Kano, his town, his root has always been a home to him and his extended family. There is no place like home. Located in the Savannah, it has the advantage of having both wet and dry seasons which are favourable for agriculture. At the same time there is alot of irragation agricultre taking place during the dry seasons where particularly rice and wheat are produced. Kano is also a large industrial city and an export processing zone.
Wants to see the developing societies become literate and numerate, free from poverty, hunger, ignorance and diseases as well as becoming less supersiticious.
Currently the Chief Executive of Kano State Agengy For Mass Education, Nigeria, where he has been working since 1982 holding different postions. He however took time to do some international development work from time to time on secodment to other organisations. The positions he held at the Agency for mass Education included: Editor and head of books development and materials review Unit; Training Officer; Head of Library Unit; Head of Post Literacy Unit; Focal officer in charge of UNICEF Assisted Programmes; Head of Supervision, Monitoring and Evaluation; before finally being appointed as the Executive Director.
He was the state team of the defunt Literacy Enhancement Assistance Program LEAP, a USAID assisted Project from 2001 to 2004. He was also the Coordinator Hornby School of the British ouncil, Kano from 3rd January to 28th march 2005. He was an external Monitor of the 2006 Nigeria Census in Gombe State sponsred by EU/ECORYS and also an internationl observer of the 5th Sudan population and Housing Census in Khartoum in 2008.
He holds an M. Ed in Community Development from Bayero University, Kano Nigeria
