Rita has been a reporter-researcher with the Centre for Science and Environment, India. She has also been a contributing writer/reporter for the Women’s Feature Service. As a Panos Fellow (www.panossouthasia.org), she studied reproductive health in Delhi’s slums.
Her areas of study include microfinance and livelihood options and the problems of nomadic and semi-nomadic communities in India. Rita Anand is a post-graduate in history from Jadavpur University, Kolkata. She began her career as a history teacher.
