I am a changemaker as the local coordinator of the Valley Quest Program. Valley Quest is a place based education program that uses treasure hunts to share special places and special stories. As the coordinator, I help people of all ages connect with the great community they live in. By going on Quests they learn about the natural and historic treasures in the Upper Connecticut River Valley of Vermont and New Hampshire.
I have a great fondness for a series of trails near my house. In the winter, they are great for cross country skiing, in the other seasons, they are great for hiking. And as much as they are familiar and the same, they are wildly different with the change of seasons.
I would like to see people connect more with the place they live. Get out and discover the great trails near their houses, find out about the history of their town, get involved with local organizations and become active and connected members of their communities.
I have been the local program coordinator of Valley Quest for about five years. Valley Quest is a program of Vital Communities, a great non-profit organization engaging citizens, organizations, and communities in creating solutions to our regions's challenges.
