Akinwumi Morakinyo is an ICT expert, a youth leader and social reformist. He worked the only man among the entire Women Technology Empowerment Centre team due to his passion for women developmental issues. He believes that the social rights of women can not be totally guaranteed if men are not involved or carried along. He was a Faculty Officer in Aptech Computer Education, an indian computer training institute that trains young people in Software Development and Enginnering.
He has worked on several ICT projects, designed a number of software application and has participated in various ICT workshops, leadership seminars and conferences. Prior to this, he worked as a Support Chief of NetServeAfrica Limited, a bulk SMS retail company specialised in selling short messaging platform to companies, banks and mulitinationals through installations, training and supports.
He is presently running the Youth Enterprise and Technology Initiative as the Executive Director, providing leadership and direction as well as working in the area of Website Design or Redesign, website maintenance and development, overseas the maintenance of software & hardware appliances in the office. He strategises on plan development of project implementation, coordinates training on ICT and participate in fundraising activities of the organisation.
EHis hobbies include reading, listening to music and hanging out with young people.
