Trained (possess a PhD degree) in entomology and "Integrated Pest Management (IPM)" and have been engaged in IPM implementation at the field level for over 40 years. Developed a number pest-resistant varieties in rice and vegetable crops and inovated a number of IPM practices for rice and vegetable crops that are now being widely used by the farmers in Bangladesh. Vegetable farmers, in particular, are producing pesticide-free vegetable crops and earning higher profits by using the IPM technologies. Also associated with the campaign for the production and marketing of safe agro-foods, and protection of biodiversity and environment.
