As a program developer and facilitator Candace has been working in Aboriginal communities for twelve years.
Candace has an academic background in Native Studies and Addiction Counselling. Incorporating her philosophy of life long learning,
Candace has continued her education through a variety of certified training such as: Working with Families and Children, Facilitating Groups in Meaningful Conversations Around Complex Issues, Medicine Wheel Facilitators Training, Community Justice Forum Facilitators Training, Finding Peace and Resolving Conflict, Compulsive Gambling Clinical Training and Applied Suicide Intervention Training.
Candace’s passion is evident through teaching and facilitating.
Through her high level of expertise Candace has developed 5 successful innovative community service programs. Candace also facilitated the Choices for Children’s program through the Women’s Resources of Simcoe County.
Candace furthermore demonstrates a commitment to sustaining community relationships and partnerships through active participation on a number of committees.
Candace was also one of the original founding members of the Aboriginal Child Welfare Advisory Committee.
Candace’s enthusiasm continues to holistically support communities and individuals by implementing social supports and effective services that meet their needs and facilitate personal growth and empowerment.
Candace recently completed the Indigenous Women In Leadership Conference through the Leadership Development Program at the Banff Centre, Alberta.
