Elizabeth Wallace started her career in environment and energy. She worked on energy issues worldwide before turning her attention to financial sector development. Elizabeth established the European Bank for Reconstruction Development's pioneering micro, small and medium enterprise (MSME) department where she oversaw over USD 5 billion in financing and technical assistance for MSME programs. Following EBRD, Elizabeth worked in China and consulted on MSME finance and renewable energy in Africa, Asia and Latin America. Elizabeth has an MPhil from the Institute of Development Studies, Sussex, and a PhD from the London School of Economics. Elizabeth is based in Washington DC, where she is currently president of Frontier Finance International. FFI focuses on access to finance issues and greening the financial sector.
