George is an experience leader in youth leadership and management. Mr. Onyango is a Deputy Director with Slums Information Development & Resource Centres (SIDAREC), an organization he has been part of since its formation fourteen years ago, and also a Liaison Officer with Commonwealth HIV and AIDS Action Group (CHAAG).
Mr. Onyango holds a certificate in Nonprofit Management from Johns Hopkins University, Institute for Policy Studies, Center for Civil Society Studies. He also holds Diploma in Computer Science at the Inoorero University; Certificate in Executive Business Development from Wharton Business School, University of Pennsylvania.
George is a member of various organizations dealing with HIV/AIDS. He is one of the Key Correspondent Team writers with Health and Development Network. He reported for the Health and Development Network at the 13th International Conference on AIDS and STIs in Africa held in September 2003 in Kenya and 4th International Conference on AIDS India, November 2003 and Seminar And Planning Workshop, 1-2 October 2009 in UK, organized by the Commonwealth Secretariat and the International HIV/AIDS Alliance; worked with the International HIV/AIDS Alliance under Commonwealth Fellowship Programme in the UK for a period of three months (September –December 2010).
George has received several honors. They include:
