I am an Anishnaabe woman, and my family comes from Neyashingaming Unceded reserve in Ontario. I am happily married to my very best friend Peter Tenute and have been in this wonderful relationship for 35 years. I have three children: Peter Jr, Hillory and Matthew. It is with their support that i was able to learn how to create a strong and loving family, and with their support i was able to go to university.
I graduated from University of Ottawa with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology, and now have a Master's degree in Pastoral Studies with a concentration in Individual and Couple counseling from Saint Paul University.
I have been working with Aboriginal people since i graduated from University of Ottawa. It has been an honor and i feel blessed to have had the opportunity to work and learn from everyone I have come in contact with.
I am currently exploring and reclaiming Aboriginal traditional knowledge so it may be shared with my family and with the children, youth and adults that i work with.
