My mom's recent death and battle with cancer inspired me to establish a nonprofit organization to provide trips for those with limited life expectancies or terminal illnesses. In addition, I hope to act as a changemaker through my foundation to increase cancer awareness and to connect those impacted by this disease.
My mom passed away just before going to Australia, her dream destination. Shortly after her death, I went to Australia in her honor and had the opportunity to go on a 4-day dive expedition with great white sharks. Jekyll Island in Georgia (U.S.A.) also has a special place in my heart because it was my mom's favorite place, and she always hoped to by a little retirement home there. I followed her footprints to Jekyll Island after her passing and was amazed by Driftwood Beach there. My other favorite places are Sedona (Arizona), Thailand, Argentina, France, and the Greek islands. I am also a certified diver, so I always feel at home in the water as well.
I want to give others the chance my mom didn't have, to travel and to enjoy their time with family members in a new place. In our lifetimes, I feel we will find a cure for cancer, and I would also like to contribute to the areas of cancer education and research through my foundation and personal pursuits. Sometimes, paths appear before you after years of searching. For me, I have finally found that path, that calling. Through my foundation, I can share my passion for travel and help create unforgettable travel experiences for those who need them most.
