I have always struggled with my weight over the years - always going up and down, not knowing what it meant to actually be healthy. By the age of 28, I was an obese single mother with two beautiful children and miserable - much of my time was taken up working full-time and caring of the kids. There was no time for me, or so I thought. On September 01, 2010, I decided to change my life. I hated how I felt and I knew what my future potentially held for me if I kept trying to eat away my issues. So I slowly started to change my eating habits and re-adjusted my schedule to fit exercising in at home. Within three months I had lost 21 pounds. I then discovered clean eating and strength training and committed myself and my children into completely overhauling our eating habits altogether - 5 months later, I lost a total of 53 pounds and my kids became healthier too. Having this knowledge with me inspired me to start blogging about clean eating and exercise and I do just that to this day. My focus now is working with Aboriginal families across Canada to encourage and inspire them to do the same - this has now become my life mission.
