I have been obsessed with the idea of creating a high-profile outdoor exhibit to honor GLBT contributions to history for 25 years. I finally realized that it was never going to happen unless I made it happen. So I walked away from a successful career as a General Contractor and Designer to begin this incredible journey. I founded The Legacy Project in 2008. It was incorporated in 2010 as a non-profit corporation to oversee the creation of "THE LEGACY WALK" - the only outdoor "walking museum" in the world dedicated to celebrating the contributions Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender (GLBT) people have made to world history and culture. Spanning one-half mile, it will be dedicated in Chicago on October 11, 2012. The creation of this exhibit is the culmination of a 25 year-long dream to fill-in the gaps left by our redaction from history.
