Please let me know how WTO can help you market it globally through our network partners. Also you should create media visibility for your game.
Toilets and Sanitation has been unspeakable taboo in mainstream society, so a soccer game can be a great way to make sanitation sexy. I think it'll be the most sexy in Latin American countries like Brazil, Argentina, etc where football is everything.
Like they say, what you can't discuss, you can't improve.
Thanks for your interest and all the hard work WTO is doing to raise awareness and make a difference! We're finding great responses so far to the soccer program in Uganda and we'd love to be able to use it around the world. As the program develops, we'll have a better idea of how it might work in other places. Our partners in Africa do a great job of inspiring and encouraging one another with new ideas, especially in the promotion of typically taboo topics. It's humbling to see how their commitment to breaking through barriers in their communities is transforming lives! As much as possible, we’re working to raise the awareness and resources to proliferate the idea.
If WTO would like more information, I’m happy to pass it along. It would be great to see this being implemented effectively around the world, so feel free to share this with your network partners and share any ideas you might have. You’re right about football being a great draw in most of the globe, but we’re also working on how to truly involve everyone in the community beyond attending games and presentations.
Thanks again for your efforts and partnership in this work!
Peace,
Sada
Could you please respond to the question "What are the main barriers to creating or achieving your impact?"
What do the winners receive? Do the winners usually stay on top match after match because of their knowledge and past success in their communities or are there new ways for Fellows to rise up? Also, it would be great if you could respond to the other questions that have been posted.
Thank you.

Hello Dana,
Thank you for your interest in learning more about our innovation and I apologize for the slow response. As far as the main barriers to creating or achieving our impact we anticipate it could be difficult to find enough players who have met all of the requirements to play on the teams. The full set of requirements for each individual player are that they have a pit latrine, hand washing facilities, rubbish pit, drying rake, kitchen, and main house in their home. Another challenge may be figuring out how to further involve other populations in the community, besides the young men playing on the teams, other than simply being present for the presentations on water, hygiene and sanitation before and during halftimes of the games.
As for your question on how different teams will be able to win we agree that this is an excellent point but we are hoping with the point breakdown being composed of the matches, village visits and testimonies that different teams will have several opportunities to win. Thanks again for your interest. Let is know if you have more questions or ideas!
