Dear Saumitra,

Your's is indeed a fascinating and promising intervention. Since you work in the Aravalis, I wonder how can you work can be extended to neighbouring city of Gurgaon where groundwater draft exceeds recharge significantly, leading to a conclusion that the region will be dry of groundwater within next decade. I'm sure your answer to this will be `yes' with a condition that `let the administration invite you to help them'. I or for that matter no one else can guarantee that but we wish it to be so. Tell us what needs to be done to see your invention spread far and wide!

Also, please enlighten discerning readers like me on the `limitations' of your appplication(s). Is the aquifer in JNU not a `confined' aquifer where the impact of rainwater harvesting is visible compared to those where it is not (presumably in continuous aquifers). I hope you understand what I'm trying to ask.

Cheers

Dear Prof Saumitra Mukherjee,

Can you pl share your model so that the same can be applied to Karnataka where similar drinking water problems exist?

Pl respond to n_b_rao@yahoo.co.in and I would like to take your help in proposing this to the Government and other NGOs who are working in this area.
