Hey DL Elliot. I have just read all about your project and it caught my eye as i have a strong interest in sport and i am also wanting to study a masters in nutrition.

I think what you have achieved so far is fantastic and on such a large scale you have been able to target many individuals.

The results you have achieved are great especially having evidence of decreased alcohol and substance use.

Sport is clearly an essential tool for development and is key to living a healthy lifestyle. I think it is vital that projects like yours target girls especially teenage girls as they are almost the most vulnerable and have the highest dropout rate with reference to sport.

Congratulation on your success and good luck with the project.

Thanks Emma. Best of luck in your studies. We would welcome the chance to adapt ATHENA and try it out in other countries. Its underpinnings are sturdy, and it should have the same outcomes with any bonded team of young women and an influential coach. Here's a link to a recent story about a team's use of ATHENA - they called it their secret weapon for success @ http://www.wickedlocal.com/weston/sports/x1683627337/Was-ATHENA-field-ho.... Thanks again,
Diane
