Hi Rachel:

I like your idea on using profits from the sale of Girl Edge label to fund female players and teams across the world. Your description of this plan makes alot of sense.

Im wondering if you have thought of utilizing girls' creative talents to actually design this athletic product line? This would still fall within the scope of using sports as a tool for social change and possibly make your application even stronger.

Good luck with your entry!

Hi Kathy

Thanks for your supportive comments, and yes to utilizing girls' creative talents to help design Girl Edge Gear. We have some amazing young women athletes in WULF who have inspired this submission. We will work on making that clearer in our entry.

Best,
Rachel

Hi Rachel,

I like the spirit of your idea however I would love to push you to think of a few more elements that will make the idea attractive to Nike. What will make your designs different, better than the women's apparel that nike currently designs? Why do they need your designs to reach this market? Whey can't they do it themselves. Also, how are you going to incorporate the cultural differences in your designs. Western culture has very different standards for appropriate attire.

I would also encourage you to focus the efforts on one or two global regions so it becomes clear which girls you are trying to target.

Again great idea and would love to help you work through these issues to make it a strong idea for Nike or any other sporting good manufacturer.
