CONNECTING THE OGIEK COMMUNITY WITH THE WORLD

The ogiek community living in kenya have for a long time been displaced from their ancestral lands, being excluded in major developments and lag behind in education. Many youths remain idle and others engage in early marriages because families are unable to to afford higher education for them due to lack of financial resources. It is for this reason that connect was born to address the challenges and to seek to improve the livelihoods of the community members through sustainable developments targeting agriculture, social welfare(scholarship programs to further education after finishing primary school )and exploiting markets, establishing linkages and enhancing incomes to create self reliant communities.
