Community Fitness Challenge

My idea is to provide reserves and regional metis offices with the information that they need to provide a foundation of health and wellness knowledge to our people. This information will serve as a basis to an overall challenge, though it is competitive will benefit all of our nations coming together as a stronger more cohesive healthy unit. The goal is to have our people sign up to a fitness challenge, create a personal goal, and an overall goal for their community. Once these goals are defined, communities will publicize their goals, challenging each other to reach the highest potential possible. With these challenges the outcome will result in a healthier, better educated, stronger community.

Tell us about the people/ partnerships that are already involved and why they are important to your idea or project.

Currently this is just a vision of mine, so there are no partnerships.

If there are other people/partners that you will reach out to tell us who they are and why they will be important to your idea or project.

I would reach out to bands, metis communites, to challenge their members. It would be important for local gyms to embrace this challenge and provide education on the use of equipment and importance of lifestyle changes. On a larger scale sponsorship of this project from a sports brand would be exceptionally great.

Describe the kinds of support you receive (other than money) or will need to support your idea or project (e.g.: donated, space, equipment and volunteers)

It would be great to have gym space, volunteers to teach healthy living, reading material, sporting equipmetn.

Do you currently have funding for your idea or project?

No (skip next two questions)
