Our Mission
To help street children, slum children, and orphans in India as directly and efficiently as possible, while investing in ways to provide these children with an education.

From the Founder
I started Baal Dan in 2006 after volunteering at Mother Teresa's orphanage in Calcutta in 2005. I saw many children, even babies, who lived on the streets. Begging, sleeping on pavements, foraging through trash looking for things to play with.

We can leverage the power of our dollar to give these children simple things to make their lives easier and give them more of a childhood.

Our Approach
Baal Dan's remarkable growth is due in large part to its uplifting philosophy of helping children in need in many different ways and on many different scales. Baal Dan provides grants of varying sizes that address everything from critical needs, to larger building projects that uplift the lives of orphans and street children.

Without a rigid model, Baal Dan is open to continual change and restructuring in order to address the needs of the children we support. With this flexibility we are able to stay focused on our core mission of helping children in need in the most efficient ways possible.
