We are giving loans,“ patient loans ” that act as capital security with long term results and prolonged payback period. We require no security like other micro-finances,we only get the value of our capital investment with little market rate profits and our clients are agents of growth to our markets.our unique risk capital aggregation model is being used .Our loans are described as RESCUE with RISKS intended to improve on unemployment and underemployment within vulnerable community members .our services encompass, business training, micro loans, networking opportunities, development and access to markets.Matungu community development charity model is unique because it's able to do a social good whilst still ensuring a profit for investors. It accomplish three objectives of maximizing benefits for underprivileged people.

Africa is growing to food crises already one in six children don't survive the fifth birthday mostly due to hunger related causes .Record shows that food shortage will make this situation to grow from bad to worse . According to the Ministry of Health here in Kenya, 81% of children under 5 are anemic and 50% of deaths are attributable to malnutrition. Partly because Kenya wastes enough food to meet the needs of at least 580,000 people each year, there is an annual shortage of at least 15% despite emergency maize imports! Urban residents primarily consume poor quality imported maize and rural areas increasingly rely on imports and food aid. A burgeoning cohort of 15 to 29 year olds is fueling increasing demand for maize and career opportunities and this dynamic will exert increasing pressure on households and the government. Social peace is critical to the stability of democratic institutions and continued economic development. Our approach will empower the next generation of farmers and boost social peace.

Farmers in Kenya doesn't really need loans, what they need is farm subsidize through farm inputs and that's exactly what we are doing.

Problem

The organization need more networking and collaborators in sustainable agriculture field in both cash in kind and material support,we need to reach to our resource poor farmers both men and women in our micro financing model which is hybrid encompassing both training and metorship.

Solution

Micro finance facility providing risk capital on easy terms to entrepreneurs at the bottom of pyramid for social and financial value and helping aspiring entrepreneurs to turn business ideas into viable business plans through Trainings in new technologies in social media skills for development and research for better market linkages. The idea is to improve micro credit, by correcting faults, removing inconsistency and abuse and introducing modern systems. Our second goal is to setup an innovative social projects working with poor farmers in western Kenya to improve their farming system through targeting certain nutritive crops such as Orange fleshed sweet potato having natural vitamin A for body immunity boosting ,Amaranth a grain with high fiber content,Cassava a crop being seen having a key to a solution to hunger in Africa for poor farmers ,maize mostly consumed by almost everybody in this regions and sorghum .Why we are choosing on this crops is, that are already grown locally and they have adopted local environment thus resisting both drought and diseases. This project is located in western Kenya where majority depend on Agriculture as their mainstay. The project is located in one of Africa’s biggest grain and tubers growing regions. Our strategy involves utilizing GrainPro’s hermitic storage system, modern tubers processing equipment, and Amaranth processing technology. Being more efficient allows us to provide fortified flours at a cheaper price than imported and locally grown non-fortified flours. In addition to selling maize directly to Kenyan consumers, we will also supply humanitarian relief agencies and organizations that participate in school feeding programs and other relief efforts. By boosting output and improving quality, we will help Kenya maintain political stability by meeting the maize needs of its citizens, creating jobs, and turning it into the maize exporting country that it should be.Farmers are provided with farm inputs to pay back a after harvesting not real loans and are taken through generic basics in managing business unlike throwing money at them ,Farmers produces cassava cutting to pass them to other farmers at small fees.

Exemple

Matungu community development charity is concentrated on local subsistence farmers in Sub-Saharan Africa – one of the largest groups of "forgotten poor" in the world. We provide a complete, trainings in both farming systems and provision of farm inputs, functioning market system – making it possible for even the poorest and most rural farmer to generate more income, and permanently solve their own hunger problem.

Marché

Women are the most marginalized group of people in this region and who are not allowed to own land not only but general properties and yet are the people depended on to produce food for their families, most men depend on cash crops thus leaving this poor women to feed the community ,So our program targets this of people who need patient loans ,business training and mentor ship to strengthen their capacity to help in breaking that poverty vicious circle around them .

One woman, Beatrice Nasuluthi, describes that life wasn’t bad before training, yet she lacked the both farming and business skills needed to support her family. “As a result, all my businesses were collapsing,” says Nasuluthi, who has attended the 12-week training with others.
This year, she re-launched her business following the training, and is now successfully developing her skills in cassava production.
“If it wasn’t for the training I wouldn’t be where I am now,” says Nasuluth. “Life has changed, and I learned a lot. For example, I learned that anything you get out of...

"A burgeoning cohort of 15 to 29 year olds is fueling increasing demand for maize and career opportunities and this dynamic will exert increasing pressure on households and the government."

Therefore, we must all take urgent action. I hope that Eway can team up with Matungu to assist our partner program at The Dolphin Anti rape and AIDS Control Outreach Organization, based in Nairobi Kenya, The Dolphin is a registered Non Governmental Organization, delivering life-saving sexual violence prevention education. Our first corresponding project is the “Anti-Grab and Counter Technology Rapid Response” initiative. More than 3,000 individuals have reported using the skills taught by Dolphin to stop a potential rape and remain safe.

We have began a scholarship fund to assist with education services for students at the Dolphin. If we could house a mini-medical clinic, and mobile clinic at the facilities, we will move closer to our goal of improving living conditions in Kenya.
