At the very basic level we connect individuals seeking health information with professionals.
We also work in the field and work with support groups in areas like addiction, HIV/AIDS, epilepsy cancer et al.
We conduct vocational rehabilitation activities for communities like those recovering from addiction, HIV/AIDS
Organise matrimonial meets and counselling for people Living with HIV
Empower general practitioners use IT and Internet through seminars and training programs
Make available health information and information of facilities in English and two Indian languages
Bring together NGOs working in the various health related fields in order to be more effective.
All this contributes to the health needs of individuals and communities

aarogya.com addresses numerous social issues simultaneously. More often than not, we approach the issue from a completely different perspective. In keeping with our philosophy of being enablers, we harness the energies of individuals and organizations working in the field. We try to be supportive of the health needs of individuals or communities and do so by adopting approaches not considered by other organizations in the same field. To cite some examples: The IT4Doctors project is a unique initiative to empower general practitioners, who often are the first point of contact for individual health needs. We have covered numerous cities in Maharashtra to reach out to hundreds of doctors and helped them be more effective and accessible.
Similarly vocational rehabilitation for people recovering from addictions is addressed better by focusing the efforts of all the stakeholders in the State.
So also is the case in the matter of matrimonial meets for the AIDS Support group.
This bringing together and focus of all stakeholders is a different approach. Collaboration and co-operation are an important aspect of our approach.

Our earlier work with Government and UNODC has helped strengthen our standing amongst the various communities we work with. This in turn has greatly helped our approach.

The founder of the project has himself been through very difficult circumstances and knows first hand the need for support and access to health information. realizing the need to address this gap and being aware of the skewed doctor patient ratio, he thought of starting the aarogya.com project.

The project has a long way to go, however we have enjoyed modest successes.
We have had quantifiable beneficiaries in all our projects. The IT4Doctors project has reached hundreds of doctors belonging to the Indian Medical Association's city branches.
At a conservative estimate over 50 couples living with HIV have decided to share their lives.
The recently launched "Utthaan" vocational rehabilitation project has had hundreds of beneficiaries.
Contless number of people have benefited from the online support groups (for which we were recognised with the NASSCOM Foundation's Social Innovation Honours Award)
