The Citizen's Voice (Nagorik Kontho) Web Portal is an internet-based platform (based on Ushahidi) that is equipped to receive citizens' opinions and reports via a range of options using mobile phones and the web. Citizens can now participate in quality of public service reporting by sending their text, video, or voice messages from mobile phones, or directly uploading them to the portal via web.portal via web.

Reason:

This is a much needed but a rare project in Bangladesh where citizen can express their opinion freely on public services issues like corruption, lack of infrastructure etc. And there is an effort in this project to include the service providers opinion so communication between both the parties can happen for development. In Bangladesh, most people are not satisfied with the supply and utility services provided by the government agencies. Furthermore, most people are not aware of their civic rights.This web portal tries to address that problem with the power of citizen journalism. The target audience of the web portal are: Different public service providers Journalist & Media Client of the specific services( general citizens)
