“Thanks so much for your entry! We are interested in learning more about your volunteer base and your processes. In general, who are your volunteers and does anyone get paid? What is your donor process – how many and do you have contracts with them? Additionally, what kind of follow-up are you providing? Thanks again for your entry and we look forward to your responses!”
About our project of volunteerism:
To be a volunteer is to render a service out of free will, without any remuneration, as a way of being active as a citizen in the community life thereby to contribute in finding answers to the main challenges of the society, targeting a fairer and responsible world.
The project of volunteerism provides to ONG Banco de Alimentos (NGO Bank of Foods):
- Live through new situations;
- Exchange experiences;
- Spontaneous co-operation, new ideas (different view from the entity);
- Minimum of subsistence to survive, once the volunteerism is the main force to the development of the entity’s project;
- Motivation resource.
As for the volunteer it intends to contribute for:
- Professional accomplishment;
- The acquisition and development of knowledge and proficiency (as how to be enterprising and creative);
- Reinforcing the sense of social responsibility and citizenship by standing for a cause;
- Taking part in courses for educational guidance;
- To live through new situations;
The volunteers can act in all areas of the NGO:
-Administrative Area such as Public Relation, Collector of Fundraising, Collector of Foods, Events Promoter, Administrative Assistant, Planner, Researcher; Events (photographer, cooker, promoter); in Gastronomy (to develop recipes with integral use of foods, also testing new recipes with this purpose); operational area (visitor, collector’s assistant, training technician).
Sustainability:
The NGO Bank of Foods is sustained by financial donations of citizens and legal entities.
In 2009 we created a fundraising project called “Nine you can”, which the main idea is donors´ can support the Organization with R$ 9,00 monthly adhesion during a year, of equal value of R$ 108. This money will help feed a person with three daily meals for 12 months, summing up to 1.080 meals during this period. The donor could also choose to help more people, multiplying the R$ 9,00 monthly by the number of people he/she willing to donate during a year. To sign up to this campaign is fast and simple, just need to access our website www.bancodealimentos.org.br and then pay with a credit card of your choice (Visa, Mastercard or Amex).
The NGO Bank of Foods maintain a steadfastly communication with its donors and also make available the access to all of the activities and administrative manners.
