I am surely striving to keep making change in my community.I started the first ever public library in my area and now running a network of rural school libraries in Coastal Kenya(South)I have with help of friends started over 4community learning centres and while a student did a management plan for the shimoni community cave project-eco-tourism in nature.This things i have done to ensure the society i live in becomes better through the power of knowldge and information.
Education and continued learning for rural youth and community is a place i have attatchment to and really fond of.Another connection in my life is conservation and tourism management programs.I stirve to ensure i contribute to this fields as much as i can.
I want to ensure with friends around me i strive to help the rural youth in this area of kenya access information easily and use it for their overall development and sustainability.They too can become change agents.This i am now using the school libraries as a starting point.
From 2003-2005,i represented kenya as the youth leader to the commonwealth youth programs(CYP) through this learnt alot and this position helped me establish the library mentioned in my profile.I have traveld the world abit and this has helped me see another part and thinking that locally i wouldnt have had.I ma currently working on an organisation dealing with school libraries and promotion of reading habits in kenya.
