Last year my youngest daughter, whom has a very unique name, asked for her own personalized spoon. I knew I would not find one in stores, so I began researching options on how to make one for her. This is when I discovered how many toxins and chemicals went into the making of plastic and melamine tableware for children.
I knew that was not the route I was going to take with my child, so I began to research alternatives and that is when I came across bamboo.
With passion, determination and a with a need to want to make a change in the way our children live, and in their health, I have created my business designing Eco-friendly tableware for children.
All my product is made from bamboo, which is also an amazing renewable resource.
During December of 2012 I also received my new line consisting of plates, bowls and cups. This line is made of bamboo fiber and comes with pictures already added thus keeping the cost down and allowing everyone to afford eco/human friendly product. After using this amazing product for three years from the first wash you simply bury it into the ground where it will naturally decompose over the next three years greatly reducing the impact it has on the earth.
My business idea has won me 2nd place in the 2012 Shuswap Launch-a-Preneur Competition as well as winning the Green Initiative Award and I am looking forward to see where else my business is going to take me.
With my beautiful daughters and my very amazing husband I am very excited to make a difference in the world.
