The main attractions of the project are the rivers, with water falls, jumps or six waterfalls and the greenery of its natural vegetation. Offers lodging, cottages, resorts, natural spa, horseback riding, restaurants, pasadía, tour of the various water sources.

Eliminating the pollution generated from agricultural waste, producing compost. Reduced imports of propane gas and deforestation by replacing the use of firewood, charcoal and propane gas by biogas. Explain in detail why your approach is innovative
It is by combining innovative technology for the project to achieve its fruit. A combination comprising: a) land, b) housing, c) biodigestors, d) water e) livestock (sheep, rabbits, birds, goats, pigs and cows), f) electrical generators, g) as fuel for biogas cooking and electricity generators (which will get an average of 20 Kw of energy), h) and ecological infrastructure; i) others.
It's a revolutionary idea, as it reduces costs, eliminates damage to the environment, soil and the ozone layer, taking advantage of new goods produced waste, contributes to the growth of organic agriculture, the generation of jobs, clean energy production to reduce deforestation and imports of propane gas, setting up industries in rural areas, education, training and others.
It is also innovative in incorporating the Internet in an area where there is no conventional connectivity. To do this, use a wireless system deployed over long distances (see Listin Diario May 22 2009), which has been implemented by young dominican students of the Universidad Autonoma de Santo Domingo (UASD) and recently improved, yielding very good results. Similarly, innovation is the installation of IP phones for voice service project in a rural area where there's no telephone service.
Impact
Describe the degree of success you have had to date. How do you measure, both quantitatively and qualitatively, the impact on sustainability or enhancement of local culture, environment, heritage, or aesthetics? How has it transformed or contributed to the power of place or demonstrated the sustainability of tourism? How does your approach minimize negative impacts?
The project has more than three years successfully providing ecotourism services. Has five (5) cabins for couples and two groups of 20 each. It has an area for meetings, a lounge for dancing and an open office area, which highlights the degree of sustainability, both quantitatively and qualitatively. This does not include the agro-tourism, which gives him more self-project. As a demonstration of sustainability is necessary to expand the number of cabins for both couples and groups.
You have ten (20) employees, excluding the agriculture, but if the rise of personal requirements can reach 40 people. Workers defend this wonderful place because they are aware that tourists come here for the charm of a beautiful landscape, with a special green and the existence of clean rivers, fresh water with beautiful waterfalls or cascades, that can enjoy security and peace, away from the worries of everyday urban life.

Local residents are involved and participate actively in the project work in it directly and indirectly through the FUNDACION DE MUJERES “LA ESPERANZA”, will be responsible for the work on projects of health, gender, sanitation, food, education, environment, employment generation and other issues with the residents living around the project.
How does your program promote traveler enthusiasm, satisfaction, and engagement with the locale?
Promoting the satisfaction and excitement in the visitors' program is based on a strong motivation to defend our natural resources. This educational campaigns using radio, television, newspapers, billboards and other media. This is both to develop the project internally and externally.
Describe how your work helps travelers and local residents better understand the value of the area's cultural and natural heritage, and educates them on local environmental issues.
The promotion includes an advocacy campaign around and love for nature that will be attractive, respectful, friendly and educational.

The Story

Our team is composed of an energy engineer, a civil engineer, an agronomist, an economist with a master's degree in alternative energies, two graduates in business administration, with a master's degree in human resources and the other master's degree in finance.
The team has worked on the design and implementation of ecotourism projects and developed several projects on preservation and conservation of the environment and the use of wastes to generate biogas and organic fertilizers. In particular, he has worked on farms taking advantage of the agricultural wastes of humans and animals.
What is the origin of your innovation? Tell the Changemakers and media communities what prompted you to start this initiative.
The origin of innovation is in combining technology comprising: a) land, b) housing, c) biodigestors, d) water e) livestock (sheep, rabbits, birds, goats, pigs and cows), f) generators electric g) biogas as fuel for cooking and electric generators.
What prompted this initiative was started with the interest of preserving the excellent conditions in which the environment of the area. Because of the natural beauty and falls in the water are the reason, the existence of the attraction. So, seeing that the agricultural wastes and deforestation threaten to affect the water project and damaging the forest, has sought to exploit the alternative debris, producing goods such as organic fertilizer and biogas to produce clean electricity and gas for kitchen.
In this sense, the use of such waste will not only reduce environmental damage and the subsoil layer of ozone, but also to produce new goods as organic fertilizer and fuel and the latter producing industrial goods, which can be used in the cuisine of the hotel and bring to market, such as: cheeses, sweets, and other organic goods.

It would be a combination of integrated services for ecotourism, which is currently offered as lodging, resorts, natural spa, horseback riding, cabins, gourmet organic and conventional, pasadía, journey through the different sources of water, knowing the different production systems agriculture. More incorporation of the Internet and installing VoIP phone, with no telephone service. You can add the generation of clean energy and organic fertilizer production.
What types of partnerships or professional development would be most beneficial in spreading your innovation?
