The Need: What problem are you trying to solve?
Although mothers observe some clues regarding developmental disorders, they refer to clinicans very late. So, minor issued turn into a big problem, so developmental delays. In traditional societies, mother-infant relationships heal the problem by itself. However, the modern city life alienates mothers from their babies. This alienation results into misattunement of mothers with their babies, simply they cannot understand their babies, sometimes they get afraid of them. So we believe that mothers should be in contact with their babies, they should relate with them, share some time and observe them and monitor their development.
The Solution: What is your solution? Be specific!
The solution is the relationship of mother and infant ! Our solution relies on providing online support by giving them information about early social development and how they can relate with their babies. Also, they can ask questions about what they have noticed like something “awkward” about their babies. In this system, mothers observe their babies themselves and try to solve the problem by themselves, so by changing the way that they relate to their babies. They become capable of recognizing the difference, the need and the solution.

anneysen.com is a web site, an online vertical social and information network for moms and mom-to-be’s. It was founded in January 2010 by two entrepreneur moms. There is free-of-charge expert advice, mom-blogs, groups, Q&A sections, polls and many other tools for moms and mom-to-be’s.
Our solution is to provide a special microsite on anneysen.com in order to train moms and mom-to-be’s how to follow pschyosocial development of their babies.
Our solution will consist of an online information platform, an online ask and answer tool that will be moderated by the experts, a community formed for moms in the training.
Information on pschyosocial development of babies will be provided in various ways, through web site, e-mails, facebook and twitter posts.
Online ask and answer tool will make immediate support of the experts possible. Throughout the project experts will be available for moms at decided days and times every week.
The community will be for the moms participating in the training. Members of the community will share their experiences, their stories, and their advice for all moms.

There are other Turkish web sites providing online expert ask and answer tools for moms. When a member faces a problem she can get support from the expert on these sites.
Our project is different, since the project will be on preventing problems before they occur. Because development problems become very difficult to cure or even uncureable when the baby is older.

What has been the impact of your solution to date?
Anneysen.com has reached a member base of 55.000 moms and 200K visitors/month, which makes the site the biggest online mom community in Turkey.
Up to date, 15.000 has received free of charge experts’s support. 800.000 mom has reached experts pages and read other moms’s anwers. Espert advice has been a life saver for all these moms.
This supoort is especially very important for moms living provincial parts of Turkey where reaching experts is financially and location wise very difficult.
Accoring to our calculations this support is worth of USD 750.000.

When it is considered that developmental disorders are seen in 1 child among 150 children, mothers may substantially benefit from this service via anneysen. com and it is possible that they can take protective precautions.

Developmental disorders have been increasing rapidly around the world and also in Turkey. Geographic, social and cultural factors like climate changes, environment pollution, cultural corruption, wars, terrorism, as a matter of course, have effects on moms and moms-to-be. So, mother-child relationships have gradually been diverged from its natural protective qualities. While civilization mostly goes parallel with modernization of objects, human resources and dynamics of relationships have been corrupted, so the protection and containment of a mother, which is the real need of newborn baby, have been damaged.

In this project anneysen.com web-site and clinical psychologist Dr. Nevin Eracar will work together. Developmental and psychological information, which is within the scope of the project, will be shared on the web-site. Then questions-answers and shared experiences will be included.
