Creative expression has the ability to affect deep and lasting social change. The imagery that visual artists create, challenge many of our society's deepest assumptions, generating new ideas, provoking critical thought and debate, inspiring individuals and initiating actions. The artworks artists create facilitate and participate in social change. Artists have the power to make a difference through their art by bringing to our attention the various issues that trouble our world.
Besides creating awareness, can artists employ their artworks to alleviate suffering and maintain human dignity? How can artists directly touch lives and build futures with their artworks? How can artists make a real difference so that their creativity empowers the lives of the most vulnerable members of our world, the women and children from deprived and marginalized communities around the globe?
Many aid, relief and development organisations operate through the donations they receive from the public. Financial donations help to fund many critical aspects of these organisations. art4worldchange will not only provide a forum for like-minded artist to share their art practices but also to contribute to humanitarian causes that require financial assistance to facilitate their important work all over the world.
Artists could not only make social commentaries that alert us to those issues that need our attention but also make a meaningful impact on the lives of those who need a helping hand by using their artworks for fundraising. Artists open windows into our world; this non-profit online organisation enables these socially conscious artists to do more, to serve the world through their art. art4worldchange enables artists to contribute to the causes they believe in. The social conscious artist’s intentions are converted into solid action for change.
art4worldchange is an initiative born of the need to connect artists who have a deep social conscience with worthy organizations, causes and projects while offering networking opportunities for these artists as well as art association and institutions.
One of the aims of this online non-profit organisation will be to generate revenue for valued social and environmental causes, thereby directly impacting the lives of deprived and marginalized women and children around the world. This venture will also help promote social causes and create awareness of social or environmental problems and needs that exist in our society. art4worldchange provides a platform to generate public awareness and to contribute to societies and groups supporting social needs and issues.
This non-profit organisation exists for charitable reasons alone and its administrative members will not benefit financially. All funds raised will be forwarded to social and environmental causes. The pilot of this project will be funded by the volunteer administrators of the organization.
