Power in off the grid locations

I would love to hear peoples ideas for off the grid power for Rwanda. Experiences in other West African countries would be useful. There is a desire and necessity to use solar PV. how to structure the installation and maintenance. AND how to use it as a learning tool. Hoping perhaps to partner with SolarSister. Other suggestions?
