Developing market parameters and Market information system for Goats In India

Goats has been first doemsticated animal and has been livelihood source for almost 200 miliion families on the globe. The goat milk has been consumed more than cow and buffalo milk across the globe.
However the market of goats and male kids in developing countries is still based on estiamtion by purchaser and age old estimation technique not transparaent to the producer , who invest scarce resource in its up keep. The poor farmers are most often deceived by traders and trade is in favour of pruchaser in remote rural areas.

The Goat Trust has been intiating a project of research cum field experiementation to help th farmers to know the arte of their goats and male kids and bargain for better prices. We are also involved in setting up a small goat milk processing plant in Alwar distrcit of Rajasthan by mid 2010.
