In your opinion, is the provision of financial literacy education, teaching poor people how to manage their little money important?

I know for a fact that there are many NGOs donating to charity, some $1 a day, gifts, etc. I may be mistaken but it seems most poor people don't manage their monies at all so they just keep being poor even if they get so much in charity.

Can educating them liberate them enough so that they can get out of poverty?
