The mission of Brainspiration is to raise money and awareness of Alzheimer’s disease through the medium of fashionable, student designed t-shirts and merchandise. Exactly $5 of each t-shirt or product sold will be donated to our cause. Of that $5, $3 will be donated to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America while the remaining $2 will be donated to Brainspiration’s own fund to create care packages for underprivileged senior homes. Our goal is to raise at least $1,000 through our cause. In the future, Brainspiration wishes to expand designs to many other diseases including heart disease, diabetes, and cancer.

Problem

Alzheimer’s disease is currently an incurable disease that 1 in 8 older Americans have-and that statistic is only growing. Since the disease is still relatively recently discovered, many Alzheimer’s specific homes have not been created. We need to help kickstart Alzheimer’s programs so that Alzheimer’s patients’ needs can be met.

Solution

The care packages that Brainspiration will create are mentally stimulating for Alzheimer’s patients. The contents of each package will be therapeutic to Alzheimer’s patients with items such as nostalgic media and tactile puzzles. Also, Brainspiration plans to partner with The Alzheimer’s Foundation of America. The A.F.A. helps those with Alzheimer’s through social service and advocacy and also supports medical research to find a cure to Alzheimer’s disease.
